DvL Custom Concepts Garners Top Honors From American Institute Of Building Design
Danie van Loggerenberg, president and founder of DvL Concepts, a professional building design company based in The Woodlands, recently returned from the 50th Annual Convention of the American Institute of Building Design, Texas Society, with 11 trophies awarded in the State-wide competition. van Loggerenberg received top honors including the W.R. Coleman award of excellence and Best of Show trophy. The awards were presented at a gala at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
DvL Custom Concepts designs projects in The Woodlands, the Greater Houston area, the Gulf region and throughout the State of Texas. In The Woodlands, DvL works with a number of private clients and custom homebuilders including the J. M. Wendell Family of Companies (J.M. Wendell, LLC and Southern Mark Homes). Most of the awards were for projects designed in The Woodlands, in the lakeside neighborhood of East Shore and the gated communities of Carlton Woods Creekside and St. Peter’s Gate.

The Best of Show and First Place Residential awards in the category 7,001 square feet and over (unbuilt) were garnered for the Massey residence, being built by J. M. Wendell, LLC in Carlton Woods Creekside. Design of the Kowalski residence in the neighborhood of St. Peter’s Gate in the Village of Sterling Ridge won the Second Place Residential award in the same category. The home is also being built by J. M.Wendell, LLC.
DvL also won the First Place Residential award in the 2,501-4,000 square foot (unbuilt) category for the design of the Paddington Terrace townhomes, now being built by Southern Mark Homes in the Midlake enclave in East Shore. The Paddington Terraces, Creole Cottages and Craftsman Cottages – all new designs by Southern Mark Homes – won the First Place Artist Impression Award.
Other award-winning designs in East Shore include the Estes residence and the Harris residence, located in the enclave of Charleston Park. These gracious Charleston-style designs garnered the First Place Residential 4,001 square feet and over (built) and Second Place Residential (2,501 – 4,000 square feet (built) awards, respectively. Both were built by J. M. Wendell, LLC.
In the First Place Commercial category, DvL won for the design of the office of Todd Hughes, Orthodontist in the Village of Sterling Ridge. Several other awards were won by the design firm for projects outside The Woodlands.
