Raising Cane’s, specializing in chicken fingers, is one of the newest restaurants in The Woodlands Town Center, located at Research Forest Drive, between Six Pines and Pinecroft Drive (at the former Backyard Burgers location).

The Woodlands Avoids Annexation by Houston

Texas State Senator Tommy Williams and Houston’s Mayor Bill White today announced a historic agreement allowing residents of The Woodlands to choose their form of self-government and to provide an ongoing financial partnership between The Woodlands and the City of Houston for projects. Projects would include funding for mobility, the development and maintenance of major regional parks, and certain improvements making it easier to get in and out of the institutions within the Texas Medical Center used by residents of the entire region, including The Woodlands.

The Woodlands was deliberately developed within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. That has limited its self-governance options. (more…)

The Pavilion Premiers First-Ever Holiday Symphony Concert

Ring in the holiday with a heartwarming celebration that features the sounds of the season in The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s magically transformed Winter Wonderland! The Houston Symphony performs a new holiday concert, Holly Jolly Pops, on Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 pm. The evening’s musical holiday merriment is a FREE event thanks to the generous support of Macy’s, St. Luke’s Community Medical Center-The Woodlands and Woodforest National Bank The event is also sponsored in part by Fidelity Investments. Gates open at 6 pm, and all seating is general admission.

The Symphony will be led by Rebecca Miller and will also feature Bassist Kevin Deas. Musical selections will include well-known holiday classics and popular carols, in addition to Mozart’s “Musical Sleigh Ridge”, a sirg-a-long. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and more!

The Woodlands’ Country Club Courses Ranked In Top 25

The Woodlands Country Club and The Club at Carlton Woods were both ranked in the top 25 baser on USGA Course Ratings in the Houston Business Journal’s listing of the Top 25 Houston-Area Golf Courses. The listing, which appeared in the Dec 1 issue, ranks The Woodlands Country Club’s Player Course #7, and The Club at Carlton Woods Fazio Course #9. The Fazio course is located in the gated community of Canton Woods Creekside.
