Halloween in The Woodlands

Enjoy Spooktacular, an adult Halloween event, set for Friday, October 13, beginning at 8 pm at The Woodlands Recreation Center. Proceeds benefit Project Youth 2007, a program designed to encourage and inspire teens to develop a positive, constructive lifestyle by participating in various activities that will motivate them to build better character, self esteem and self worth.

Spooktacular will feature live music, dinner catered by BerryHill, games, the haunted trail experience and a costume contest. Live and silent auctions are planned. There will also be a cash bar. Tickets are $60. For more information, visit www.project-youth.org or call 281-210-3950.

2006 ASID Showcase Home Coming to The Woodlands East Shore

A $2 million home being built by Post Homes, Ltd. in the neighborhood of Colonial Park in East Shore will be the 2006 ASID Showhouse, opening October 28. Each room of the home will be designed by a different member of The American Society of Interior Designers/Texas Gulf Coast Chapter (ASID), creating the ultimate Showhouse. The event is a benefit for the Gastro Esophageal Cancer Foundation, Inc.

The home will be open Saturday, October 28 through Sunday, November 12, 2006. Hours are 10 am - 5:30 pm Wednesday through Sunday. The home will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the period. Admission is $15 at the door, or $12 in advance through ASID (call 713-626-1470 for tickets) or at The Woodlands Homefinder Center at 2000 Woodlands Parkway
